The base of the bag will be empty upon delivery:
You can fill the base of the bag with either dry sand, water, or a mixture of both depending on what you're looking for in terms of weight and convenience. When filling your base, we highly suggest using a large funnel to transfer the material. Our members also have a lot of success creating easy DIY solutions instead of buying a funnel. You can check out some examples at the bottom of the article.
DRY SAND: We recommend using 350 pounds of DRY silica sand for the best experience during your workouts. If you’re unable to find silica sand near you, get the most dry sand possible from a home improvement store near you.

FUNNEL: In order to most efficiently get sand in your base, we recommend using a wide-mouthed funnel.

WATER: Water is much more convenient and will be easier to fill, empty, and move around when needed. However, the bag will be lighter at 250 lbs, which means it may move during your workouts.
DRY SAND & WATER: You can combine dry sand & water to stabilize the bag which would bring the weight to 450lbs. However, this can get a bit messy especially if you are planning on emptying it at any point.
IF FILLING THE BASE WITH SAND BY YOURSELF: We suggest using a 5-gallon bucket as a medium between the bags of sand and your base. Simply fill the bucket with as much sand as you're comfortable lifting. Pour the sand into the funnel/base. Repeat until 350lbs of sand are in the base.
